A delegation led by K. Syama Raju, President of SIHRA, met the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka to discuss the reopening of safaris that had been suspended for over two months
After reviewing inputs from various forums and stakeholders, the Chief Minister directed the Forest Department to gradually resume safaris and constitute a panel to assess the carrying capacity of Bandipur National Park and Nagarhole National Park
SIHRA's Memorandum of Association states that the purpose of its formation was to "encourage, promote and protect the interests of proprietors and other persons concerned with and interested in hotels, restaurants and boarding houses..." South India Hotels and Restaurants Association was incorporated in 1951 as a company under Companies Act without having any share capital. The objective is to encourage, promote and protect the interests of member establishments. It has been rendering professional advice and assistance from time to time to all its members on topics of vital importance.
