SIHRA Vaccination Camp
We all aware about the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic and the struggles hospitality industry is going through in the entire country. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been assisting the Government by accommodating Doctors and Nurses who and now Asymptomatic and Symptomatic Covid patients at hotels considering the risk to their family members. Whereas hotel staffs serving the Doctors, Nurses and Patients were put on to HIGH RISK and they were serving without the protection of vaccine past one year.
From SIHRA, we have written to various Governments many times to include hotel staffs in Front Line Workers category and it was in principle agreed by Health and Revenue Disaster Management Departments, but the GO was not issued. However, realising the genuine concern Chennai Corporation and Coimbatore Corporation Commissioners vaccinated more than 1600 hotel staffs in the age of 18 to 45 through the camps arranged by SIHRA. Karnataka Government also considered our request and we have forwarded the list of hotel staffs to be vaccinated. SIHRA is co-ordinating the vaccination camps in Bangalore this week. Kerala Government already issued suitable orders to vaccinate Hote staffs considering them as FLW. We continue to emphasis various local authorities and Governments about the importance of vaccinating hotel staffs. Mass Vaccination is the only way to open up the economy especially Tourism in the country and we believe We can be safe when every one around is safe.
